Amal Nagammy, PhD
Dean of Students and Arabic Instructor
Professor Dr. Amal Nagammy is a distinguished academic and advocate based in Jerusalem, serving as the Dean of Students and lecturer at Kivunim New Directions. Additionally, she is an Arabic lecturer for international students at the University of Chicago. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Nagammy has dedicated her career to transforming understandings of the Arab Israeli conflict through education. Her belief in education as a bridge to cultural understanding and conflict resolution underscores her work.
Dr. Nagammy's academic background includes a PhD in Gender and Social Work from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, focusing on Palestinian women's leadership. She also holds master’s degrees in social work and education. Her research spans gender, politics, and Jewish-Arab relations, reflecting her commitment to addressing the complexities of these issues.
In addition to her teaching roles, Dr. Nagammy is an esteemed international speaker on Arab women's rights and female empowerment. She is actively involved with the United Nations Committee on Women, Peace, and Security. Her extensive experience includes lecturing for prestigious institutions such as the University of Chicago and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
